What Might We See?

Babies can settle into several positions late in pregnancy. During your visit, we can show you how your baby appears to be positioned at that moment.

Head Down

Baby’s head appears toward the lower uterus.

Head Down, Facing Up

Baby may be head down while facing a different direction.

Breech

Baby’s head appears higher, with the bottom positioned lower.

Another Breech Position

Baby’s legs and bottom may also be positioned differently.

Your Prenatal Provider Is Still in Charge

Baby’s position can change. An elective position check is not a medical examination or a substitute for your prenatal provider’s assessment. Please discuss questions about presentation, labor, or delivery with your OB, midwife, or other prenatal healthcare provider.

A possible bonus

Can We Still See Baby in 3D or HDlive?

Sometimes! At 37+ weeks, baby has less room and may be tucked deeply into position. When the face is visible and conditions are favorable, we will happily take a 3D/4D/HDlive peek.

Baby is still the boss: position, available fluid, placenta location, and limited space all affect what we can see. A clear facial image cannot be guaranteed.

A favorite part of every visit

And Yes—You Get to Hear That Heartbeat

Even this close to delivery, hearing your baby’s heartbeat is one of those sounds that never gets old. You will be able to watch and listen during your Late Peek.

If baby gives us a beautiful view, ask about upgrading so you can take home even more of those final in-utero memories.

A Helpful Reminder

Late Peek is an elective bonding ultrasound. It does not evaluate your baby’s health, growth, amniotic fluid, placenta, cervix, or readiness for delivery. Continue all scheduled prenatal appointments and contact your healthcare provider with medical questions or concerns.

One More Visit Before Hello

Come see how your little one is resting, listen to that familiar heartbeat, and enjoy a final memory together before the big day.
