Helping baby look their best

A Few Simple Ways to Prepare for Your Ultrasound

You’re probably hoping to see tiny lips, a sweet profile or those adorable chubby cheeks. We’ll use our experience and advanced imaging tools to look for baby’s best angles—and there are a few gentle ways you can prepare too.

The most important thing to remember: Every baby, pregnancy and ultrasound is beautifully different. Baby’s position will always have the final say.
Your quick preparation guide

Before Your Appointment

Preparation does not need to be complicated. These simple steps can help you arrive comfortable and ready to enjoy your visit.

Stay Hydrated

Drink water consistently in the days leading up to your visit while following any instructions from your prenatal provider.

Dress Comfortably

Choose an outfit that makes it easy to comfortably access your abdomen during the scan.

Arrive a Little Early

Give yourself about 10 minutes to settle in so your experience can begin without feeling rushed.

Bring Your People

Our large suite welcomes up to 10 guests, so your favorite people can share the moment with you.

What would you love to see?

Choose Timing for the Experience You Want

There is no single “perfect” week. Earlier visits are wonderful for movement and more of baby’s body; later visits may show fuller facial features.

6–13 Weeks

Enjoy an early peek at baby’s whole body, little movements and heartbeat when visible.

14–27 Weeks

Watch baby grow and move while facial features continue developing.

34+ Weeks

Beautiful views may still be possible, although baby has less room to move.

Expecting twins? Approximately 23–26 weeks is often a lovely window for facial images, although every twin pregnancy is different.
Why every scan looks different

What Affects Baby’s Pictures?

A wonderful image depends on what is happening around baby’s face at that exact moment—not simply the ultrasound machine or pregnancy week.

Baby’s Position

We often have the clearest view when baby is facing outward with a little open space around the face. Baby does not need to be head down.

Space Around the Face

3D and HDlive imaging work best when fluid creates some separation in front of the area we are trying to see.

Hands, Feet, Cord & Placenta

These are all natural parts of baby’s little world and may appear near the face. An anterior placenta does not automatically prevent beautiful images.

Baby’s Own Personality

Some babies pose beautifully; others cuddle into the placenta, cover their face or turn away. We’ll patiently look for the views baby gives us.

What You Can Do

  • Stay consistently hydrated before your appointment
  • Follow your prenatal provider’s regular guidance
  • Choose the timing that matches what you hope to see
  • Arrive ready to enjoy baby’s real personality

What You Don’t Need to Worry About

  • Baby not being head down
  • Having an anterior placenta
  • A hand or foot appearing near baby’s face
  • Recreating the exact pose you saw online

What If Baby Decides to Hide?

Sometimes we can do everything right and baby simply has other plans. That unpredictability is part of seeing a real little person inside the womb.

We’ll work with baby’s position and movement while helping you enjoy the heartbeat, expressions and glimpses available during your visit.

About return visits Redo eligibility depends on the package selected. Some packages include a return opportunity, while experiences marked “No Redos” do not. Please review the package details before booking.
