Same-day appointments may occasionally be available. Evening and weekend appointments tend to fill more quickly, so we recommend booking those in advance.

If you're hoping for those classic round cheeks and detailed facial features, approximately 26–33 weeks is one of our favorite windows.

Earlier visits can be wonderful for seeing more of baby's body and movements. Later in pregnancy, baby usually has fuller features but less room.

There isn't one perfect week for every baby. Position, surrounding fluid and placenta location all play a part.

Our ultrasound gender-reveal appointments begin at 14 weeks.

We first look for gender in 2D ultrasound. If baby is positioned well, we can then enjoy a 3D/4D/HDlive peek during the remainder of the experience.

Baby's position can sometimes make gender difficult to confirm. If that happens, we'll explain the options included with the package you booked.

That's completely fine. Tell us before your scan begins and we'll avoid intentionally showing or discussing baby's gender.

We can concentrate on baby's face, hands, feet, movements and all the other sweet things happening during your visit.

Twins are always exciting! Please tell us when booking so we know you're bringing two babies to the party.

For 3D/4D facial imaging with twins, approximately 23–26 weeks is often a good time to visit because space becomes more limited as pregnancy progresses.

For our elective bonding ultrasound services, we require documentation showing that you are receiving prenatal care.

If you have not yet established prenatal care and are very early in pregnancy, our Pregnancy Confirmation appointment may be the appropriate option.

Please plan to arrive approximately 10 minutes early. This gives you time to check in and helps us keep every family's appointment running on schedule.

Absolutely. A New Conception is designed to be a family-friendly studio, and children are welcome.

Partners, siblings, grandparents and other loved ones can share in the experience with you. We have a roomy scan suite with large viewing screens so your family can watch baby too.

Children must remain supervised while in the studio, particularly around ultrasound equipment.

Live streaming is available with many of our ultrasound experiences so loved ones who can't attend in person can still share the moment.

Ask us about live viewing when scheduling or when you arrive.

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves rather than ionizing radiation such as X-rays.

The ultrasound system receives returning sound-wave information and uses it to create images that can be viewed on a monitor.

2D ultrasound is the traditional black-and-white ultrasound view. It is especially useful for seeing baby's profile, body, movement and gender.

3D ultrasound creates a three-dimensional rendered image, allowing you to see the shape and contours of baby's facial features.

4D ultrasound is 3D imaging in motion — letting you watch baby move in real time.

HDlive uses advanced rendering and a virtual light source to add depth, highlights and shadows to the three-dimensional view.

Our Hanover studio uses advanced GE Voluson ultrasound technology with beautiful 2D, 3D/4D and HDlive imaging.

Our newest technology also gives us additional advanced rendering capabilities, including tools such as HDlive Silhouette and SonoRenderLive.

Different imaging tools are useful in different situations, and what we are able to use depends on baby, gestational age, position and visibility during the appointment.

Ultrasound uses sound waves and does not use ionizing radiation. It has a long history of use in obstetric imaging.

Ultrasound energy should still be used prudently and exposure should be kept appropriate and limited. Our elective services are intended to complement your medically indicated prenatal ultrasounds — not replace them.

Continue all routine prenatal care and medical ultrasound appointments recommended by your healthcare provider.

Not necessarily. Many clients with an anterior placenta still get beautiful images.

The challenge occurs when baby is facing directly into the placenta or has very little space between the face and surrounding tissue. We can often scan from different angles and work with baby's position.

Parts of the placenta, cord, hands or feet may naturally appear in an ultrasound image because we're photographing baby inside the womb.

We hope so — but no ultrasound studio can guarantee a particular facial image or pose.

Baby's position, gestational age, surrounding fluid, placenta, hands, feet and other factors can all affect visibility.

Some babies give us a beautiful full-face portrait. Others give us a hand over the face, a foot by the nose or an unforgettable action shot. Babies really are the boss.

Redo policies depend on the package you purchase.

Some packages may include a return opportunity when baby does not cooperate, while others — such as packages specifically marked No Redos — do not.

An 8K Transformation is a digital artistic transformation created from a suitable 3D/HDlive ultrasound image.

It is not a separate type of ultrasound scan. The transformation is created after the ultrasound to produce a more realistic, portrait-style interpretation of baby's ultrasound image.

Results depend heavily on the quality and visibility of the original ultrasound image.

What you receive depends on the package you choose.

When digital images and video are included, they are delivered electronically by text or email, making it easy to save, download and share them with family.
