Ultrasound FAQs

What is the difference between 2D, 3D, 4D and HDlive ultrasound?

2D is the traditional black-and-white ultrasound view. 3D creates a three-dimensional rendered image. 4D shows 3D images in motion.
HDlive and HD Studio Radiance & Silhouette imaging use advanced rendering and lighting to add depth, highlights and shadows.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?

The best time depends on what you hope to see.
10–13 weeks: Wonderful for full-body views and lots of movement.
24–27 weeks: Baby is developing more facial detail while you can still see more of the body.
27–33 weeks: Our favorite window for fuller cheeks and more detailed facial features.

Do you accept insurance?

No. A New Conception provides elective ultrasound experiences and does not bill health insurance.

How can I pay for the ultrasound?

We accept cash, credit-card payments, and Apple Pay. Some clients choose to use an FSA card; eligibility depends on your individual plan. A $2.50 processing fee applies to credit-card payments, and families paying with cash receive a $5 discount.

Do elective prenatal ultrasounds take the place of an ultrasound at a doctor’s office?

No. Our elective ultrasound experiences are for bonding, sharing, and making memories. They complement—but do not replace—the care and medically ordered ultrasounds you receive from your OB, midwife, or prenatal provider.

Are family and friends welcome to join?
